Chris Wildsmith MD Kinetic Solutions
Kinetic – A learning environment within business
Kinetic Solutions was born from the vision of its two founders and with £0 of external investment. Despite many hard lessons learnt along the way and continued risks taken into new sectors and markets, the company has grown year on year into an organisation with 70 employees, operating from offices in the UK, US and Australasia.
The success of the business is down to continued innovation and by working with people that are not only passionate about our customers and products but want to continue to carry on learning and achieving. I believe that by recruiting and developing the skills of our team regardless of their background, it is this resultant collective collaboration and open discussion that provide the strongest routes to our growth and success.
Biography
Chris Wildsmith could be described as a maverick in his chosen field, having taken a less than conventional route into technology and software and the resultant building of a successful computing business.
Beginning his academic career studying Geography at UCL in 1988, his early ability to question and ask why, coupled with his willingness to volunteer for tasks and overtime, resulted in a fortuitous stumble into computing, rather than a planned and executed career progression; it was from this inadvertent turning at a professional crossroads from which he has never looked back.
Chris continued his professional journey working as a business analyst for Logica in central government prior to moving to Ashridge Business School before taking the leap into the unknown and the wonderful world of entrepreneurship! Despite dreaming of reaching the heady heights of sporting greatness he has realised some if not all of his ambition, having participated in cycling events throughout the UK and Europe including Etape – an amateur stage of the Tour de France and currently holds a racing licence with British Cycling.
Over time and throughout his professional and personal achievements, it is the realisation that it is the journey and what you learn on the way that is often more fulfilling and rewarding than the destination, which has proved a steadfast belief that he continues to build upon.
