This website has been designed to give a simple overview of the basic concepts in using databases and implementing information using databases. Topics to be covered within the website include: How to use and implement a basic form, what are relationships? And how do they work within a database? , Examples of a simple form/table, what is XML? How do you go about writing valid and well formed XML? And other various questions that you would need to know to create a fully functioning database.
The site will also explain and provide examples of queries, forms, reports and SQL. All of the mentioned examples are important for an efficient database implementation strategy and overall a good database. On the final page of the website there will be a short quiz highlighting some of the key areas mentioned within the website to see if the purpose of the site has been addressed accordingly, of course the score the user gets on the quiz will reflect this.
All of the sections included on this site are a review of a chapter called Introduction to Database Concepts found in the academic book ‘Fluency with Information Technology’ by Lawrence Snyder. Therefore by reading the information on our site you should be more familiar with databases, how they work, how they function and how to create simple databases.
