Weekly format
Sessions usually start with an introduction. I would not call this a lecture, more like tutor input. The theme for the week is introduced and the scene set. Depending on the theme, students are likely to investigate an aspect of interface design, discuss, collate responses, record findings. The following pages in this section illustrate some of the activities undertaken during semester 2. There are snapshots of some of the weekly activities and thus formative assessment. The indicative schedule below is taken from the Module Outline for semester 2, January - May 2008. For September 2008 - January 2009 the format will be slightly different as the university has extended the number of taught sessions per semester from 11 to 12.

The following pages in this section show some of the activities for weeks 1, 4 and 5. They are closely linked to the Assessment section as formative assessment occurs each week for all activities. However, to avoid overlap the activities are shown in this section and there is a general discussion about formative and summative assessment in the Assessment section.
