ITP stands for "Introductory Teaching of Programming".
These pages form a portfolio that describes an introductory programming course taught at the School of Computing at the University of Leeds.
Specifically, these pages document:
- Who I am.
- My Philosophy of teaching programming.
- The Context in which the course is taught.
- The Design of the course.
- How the course is delivered.
- How the course is assessed.
- How the course is evaluated.
- A sense of the University of Leeds.
If you want the full picture it probably makes sense to visit the pages in that order. But you're free to dip in here and there if you want to.
Some of the sections assume that the reader is familiar with the Java and Python programming languages, at least in vague outline.
This portfolio was developed as part of a Disciplinary Commons facilitated by Sally Fincher of the University of Kent. The Commons pages contain links to the portfolios produced by the other participants.
