Questionnaires
Questionnaires are handed out in a lecture towards the end of the course to capture anonymous student feedback. The questions are posed in a five point scale where 5 is always positive. There is also a space for comments.
For this course, the feedback was overwhelmingly positive, more so than I usually find. 78% of the responses were 4 or 5. Most of the 1's were from a student who must have inveretd the scale, his comments being extremely positive.
Again there are flaws in this, since disaffected students tend not to come to the later lectures and so do not get a chance to comment. I did make questionnaires available in the lab to try to overcome this.
