Euler diagrams provide a basis for many diagrammatic systems such as higraphs and statecharts. Their intuitive appeal makes them widely used for information visualisation (for example, to express logical conditions, database queries, file system visualisation, statistical comparison of data). Moreover, recent research in automatically generating, displaying and reasoning with Euler diagrams has further widened the range of application areas.
This two day workshop aims to bring together researchers and users of Euler diagrams to examine the current state of the art in this topic, explore application areas for Euler diagrams, and discuss future research directions.
Original submissions, in the form of 2-page abstracts, can be of the following types:
The areas covered include (but are not limited to):
Generating Euler diagrams (the drawability of Euler diagrams)
Euler diagram drawing (aesthetic layout of Euler diagrams)
Tools for working with Euler diagrams
Euler-based diagrammatic reasoning systems
Usability of Euler Diagrams
Full papers, of up to 12 pages, are required shortly after the workshop and will undergo peer review before final papers are collected to form the workshop proceedings.
