The work we'll be doing over the next few months will fall into three
categories:
- Private - for personal use. (To develop this work effectively, it
would be of great value to keep a reflective logbook or diary of
your teaching as we proceed. You'll also want to think of capturing
evidence as we go along. You may want to think of asking students if you may - anonymously - include examples of their work. Depending on your institutional regulations, you may want to think about obtaining human subjects approval.);
- Protected - shared with each other within the Commons;
- Public - in our portfolios, on the web.
We're currently examining/working on the setting of
our hci work, which we're addressing in four areas:
- How we got into teaching (covered in first session)
- What it's like where we teach (covered in first session)
- Aims/objectives for the hci course we teach (for second session)
- Our teaching philosophy (for second session)
So there are three things to bring with you on November 9th:
- Both the "aims" and "philosophy" pieces at Protected level
- A first draft of a "context" piece at "public" level (this
may draw from any of the four areas - or from something else we
haven't explicitly considered, of course)
