dbdc Homework for 27th November
For the next meeting, we're going to be focussed on the content of what we teach.
By Friday 20th November at the latest, send to Rich & Sally ONE slide which details:
- What content is essential to my course
- What I might put in, but don’t
- Stuff I’d never include
On the 27th, everyone will get one minute to present their one slide.
And on the 27th bring with you:
- A document that describes and justifies your course content, about 1 side A4. (This may be useful as a draft for the “content” piece in your portfolio).
- A copy of the textbook you use for your course (if any).
- Thoughts on what you might include as artefacts in your context and content sections. Candidate examples would be even better.
Questions which may jog your thinking:
- What gets put in, what gets left out?
- What is “essential” what “extra”?
- What gets taught early, what can safely be left until later?
- Which text book do I use, whose approach, why?·
... and two additional things to think about:
- What influences the approach you adopt?
- What would influence you to change?
