Conclusions
- UML has many of the right concepts to express ODP Enterprise Specifications, but there are a number of constraints that make direct expression in UML difficult.
- There are still a number of options to be investigated.
- Much depends on clarifications of the UML semantics, both by the OMG and by the de facto actions of the tool vendors.
- It may be better to work with an additional specification management layer which flattens snapshots of a particular state of specification and policy selection into UML.
