Summerbuzz competition for Stage 1 students
3 March 2015
A £500 prize is on offer to first year School of Computing students who can demonstrate that their plans for the summer will make them more employable.
The prize is being offered by employer Kinetic Solutions, who has a longstanding relationship with the School and has offered employment to placement student and graduates.
Stage 1 students are asked to outline a plan for something they want to do over the forthcoming summer that will aid their overall employability. This could be working, but could also be about developing a new skill (technical or otherwise), travelling or volunteering. Students don't have to use the £500 itself, which is the prize money.
The prize was launched to Canterbury students by Chris Wildsmith, MD of Kinetic Solutions, and will be presented to Medway students on Monday 9 March.
The deadline for entries is 20 March. Students should send their ideas on how they will spend their vacation time to summerbuzz@kineticsolutions (two sides of A4 or three slides max).
