chrg (CHange publication visibility for a Research Group)

chrg is used to determine whether a publication appears in the list of publications of its associated research group. It does so by setting the index_status for that publication and research groups. It is the research group analogue of chin.

Usage

chrg publication_id research_group_directory_name (default|always|never)

Example:

chrg 28 infosys never
Sets index_status to never for the publication with id 28 under the research group with research_group_directory_name infosys.

See Rbrgp for an explanation of abbreviated research group names).

Detail

The publication repository keeps a record of all publications that a research group has associated with it. This information is used by brgpi when it creates an index of a research group's publications.

One field of this record is the publication's "index_status". This tells brgpi whether to include this publication when it creates an index of publications.

The possible values to which index_status can be set are:

default
As long as the publication falls within the dates specified as arguments to brgpi, it will be included in the index of publications.

always
The publication will always be included in the index of publications, no matter what the the dates specified as arguments to brgpi are.
Useful for including seminal papers.

never
The publication will never be included in the index of publications, no matter what the the dates specified as arguments to brgpi are.
Useful for weeding out publications you'd rather not include in a research group's list of publications. Note that publications with an index_status of never will still appear in the relevant yearly publication index (and also the relevant individuals' indexes, unless you use chin).
