bipi (Build Individual's Publication Index)

generates an individual's publication index, in much the same way as bp builds an individual's home page.

To build a page you must login to a departmental research machine running UNIX (currently myrtle.kent.ac.uk) and use the build script described below.

Quick Start

  • Type bipi

You should see a message similar to: Producing rej's publication index. After a while, two files will be created for you in your webpages directory: pubs.local and pubs.html.

Usage

bipi [[start_month.]start_year [[end_month.]end_year]]

Example

bipi 4.1994
The pubs files will contain all publications starting from April 1994 onwards, unless you have any publications with index_status set to "always" or "never" (see chin), in which case they will always/never be included in your publications index.

Notes

  • Only available to staff and research postgrads.
  • You should read the documentation for bp before using bipi as it explains how your ~/webpages directory will be created.
  • Months are specified numerically. I.e. January=1, February=2, etc.
  • If no start month or end month is specified, the default of 1 (January) will be used.
